Gel Pigs

Aubin are the UK’s premier supplier of gel pig technology. Gel pigs are ideal in pipeline dewatering/deoiling and flushing operations and have the advantage over mechanical pigs that they won’t get stuck in the line and they are biodegradable. Our L-Gel pigging technology is a new approach to pigging previously unpiggable pipelines.

Gel pigs do not require a launcher/catcher system as they can be installed by simply bolting the canister the pig comes in onto the pipe flange and pushing the pig into the pipeline. Our MEG Gel Pig and Aqueous Gel Pig can also be diverted into production lines where they will melt leaving no trace. All of our pigs are approved by CEFAS for use in the North Sea.

L-Gel Pig is an exciting new innovation in chemical pigging technology. The L-Gel Pig is a highly elastic crosslinked, flexible solid gel pig with ‘memory’. Unlike our MEG Gel Pig the L-Gel Pig is supple enough to be able to squeeze through restrictions in lines caused by changes in bore size without being damaged. MEG Gel Pig this is a preformed cylindrical pig made from gelled MEG. The pig is supplied in a specially made former complete with a threaded plunger for easy removal.	MEG Gel Pig
