Aubin's Gel Lift System (GLS) is a game changing simple and cost effective new technology for installing and recovering objects on the seabed down to 150 metres.

The technology uses a unique environmentally responsible low density gel and can be used in renewables installation and recovery, decommissioning and oil and gas applications. Because it is an incompressible fluid GLS provides a high level of control since the product creates the same buoyant force on the seabed as it does on the surface. Furthermore GLS does not require a rated containment vessel for deployment reducing engineering costs and improving deployment efficiency.

Unique amongst installation technologies GLS put control of the installation programme back in the hands of the developer since there is no requirement to plan around when we get the vessel.

The animation below indicates a concept for installing a tidal turbine however engineering is also being conducted to identify offshore wind installation technique.

Gel Lift System (GLS) is Aubin's patented enabling technology for installing and recovering structures in subsea environments. At the heart of the concept is an environmentally acceptable low density fluid that can act as a form of "pumpable" buoyancy.
